Where do I get keys?

You’ll find them in the car. When you enroll, we’ll issue you a vehicle access card that will allow you to lock and unlock the doors of a vehicle once you’ve reserved it. The vehicle’s ignition will not respond unless the vehicle has been reserved and the correct access card has been used.

How do I get into a vehicle?

When you enroll, you are issued a vehicle access card, about the shape and size of a credit card, with a unique number assigned to you. Vehicles you reserve will unlock ONLY after recognizing your unique access card during the specified reservation time. When you get to the vehicle, just hold your vehicle access card up to the card reader. The locks pop open, and you're in.

How do I enroll?

All City employees are eligible to enroll. Contact your department supervisor to have an account created and receive a vehicle access card.

When can I start reserving vehicles?

Once your account has been created and you’ve received your vehicle access card, there is a 5 minute online activation process. With that out of the way, you can reserve and drive anytime.

What types of vehicles are included in the program?

The program currently offers sedans.

How are vehicles maintained?

The program administrators are responsible for regularly scheduled maintenance of all program vehicles.

How are vehicles fueled?

Drivers are responsible for returning vehicles with a minimum level of 1/2 a tank of fuel.

What if I need a vehicle on short notice?

The technology allows you to reserve a vehicle up to a minute before you need it or as much as a year in advance.

Are any program vehicles permanently assigned to individuals?

No, program vehicles are shared by all approved drivers.

Can someone who is not an authorized driver drive a vehicle?

No. Anyone behind the wheel must be an approved driver within the program for liability reasons. If you let someone drive who is not an approved driver, your participation in the program may be terminated.

Who pays for usage?

Program costs are allocated to a driver’s department on the basis of usage. In this way the expense of owning and maintaining the vehicle is shared by those who use it.

How are parking tickets and other violations handled?

All fines from parking tickets and traffic violations are the financial responsibility of the authorized driver and must be paid immediately.
